BEBCo. Wines Chardonnay 2017

A.B.C - Another Bloody Chardonnay? Yep  I've made a bloody Chardonnay!

I love Chablis for it's purity and affordability. I love the wines of Montrachet when the opportunity has been there to experience them.

So I thought I could make a Chardonnay! Chablis or white wine of Burgundy well it is not!

It is however a beguiling wine and influenced by its cool climate pedigree.

There are no tricks here with oak fermentation or the secondary malolactic fermentation, it is an example of the freshness and purity of the Chardonnay grape grown in a cool climate.

Light straw in colour the aromatics are flooded with an abundance of citrus; lemon pith, lemon zest and a hint of sourness.

The palate is tightly structured highlighting the purity of the fruits on display in grapefruit and nectarine.

The mid-palate is supported by a savoury edge of oatmeal that adds a textural element where the wine teasers the palate for more.

It is a drink now wine that will be best accompanied with food. Cellar 2-4 years.

Hand Bottled.

Closure: Screwcap.

Production: 200 cases.

Alc. Vol. 12.0%

pH. 3.20 TA 6.6

BEBCo. Wines Pinot Gris 2017

Released December 2017

This is a complex style of Pinot Gris that is bone dry offering a textural mid palate and length on the finish due to the phenolic extraction from skin contact prior to fermentation.

A hue of golden straw and copper edges leads to aromatics of restrained poached pear, musk and bees wax.

The immediate presence on the palate is textural broadness that is pulled along by the viscosity and structured by the firm acidity that delivers a lenghty phenolic finish.

It will be an interesting wine to observe maturity in the bottle. Cellar 2-4 years.

Hand bottled.

Closure: Screwcap.

Production: 200 cases

Alc. Vol. 12.0%

pH 3.25 TA 6.4
